Today I had two emails from colleagues who enjoyed The Other Canal and said it would make a good film. I spent a pleasant half hour (with a cup of tea, just as Fliss would have done) wondering who to cast. I thought Dominic West would make a good Nigel. Does anyone have any other ideas, or suggestions for Laura, Fliss and Ellie? Plus good old Jeff of course. They would certainly have good fun filming the beginning in Thailand!
Some suggestions already received include Sue Johnston and Alison Steadman for Laura and Dominic West for Nigel. Perhaps Helena Bonham Carter for Fliss. Someone fragile would be good for Ellie. I look forward to some inspirational names and then I can, with great temerity, contact the agents! Thanks.
